1st Annual Decades Tournament Sign-Ups

This Saturday, October 17, 2009, the SMGA will be holding it's first annual Decades Tournament. Teams are based on your age with teams forming for 30's and lower, 40's, 50's, and OLD GUYS (60's+). The format is going to be individual stroke play with Stableford scoring and FULL HANDICAPS.
Yes that's right, you guys with your 20+ handicaps have been waiting for a tournament like this. With this format, you can take your quad bogey and it won't hurt you, but if you get a birdie with your double pops you'll score big points for the net albatross (double eagle). Tiger Woods doesn't even have an albatross in a tournament, but you can. Don't worry if you don't have an official handicap yet, sign up anyway and we'll estimate one for you.
This is for all of the bragging rights about which decade has the biggest sandbaggers in the club and we're hoping that it's going to be a great annual event before we get into the winter season. Entry fee is $40 and includes a post tournament dinner and prize fund.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!! The SMGA will be kicking in $500 to pay for beer and drinks during the tourment and if there is any beer left, at dinner, so if you need more reason to play, FREE DRINKS!!
AND JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER!! We'll be holding our SMGA annual meeting at the after tournament dinner where you'll find out who won the coveted "HIT THE MOST HOUSES WITH AN ERRANT GOLF SHOT" award and also the treasured "HIT THE MOST BOATS WITH AN ERRANT GOLF SHOT AWARD". We'll be giving out other awards throughout the dinner as well.
