I recently was able to sit down with last year's Member-Member champions (Dr. Bill Follette [Handsome Bill] and Dr. Bill Maddux [Old Bill], known collectively as "The Bills") about their thoughts on their chances in this year's Member-Member tournament (June 26 & 27).
Between their sips of scotch, I was able to get Dr. Maddux to give me a quote for the website.
"You can tell everyone that they all suck and don't have a snowball's chance in hell of beating us in the Member-Member. Bill Follette and I will be happy to be declared Member-Member champions again in 2010." - Bill Maddux

- The field will be divided into flights of four teams each with flights determined by total team handicap.
- Teams will compete within their flight in a round-robin 9-hole net match play format with points awarded for winning (1 point) or halving (1/2 point) a hole.
- The team winning the highest number of points within their four-team flight will be declared flight champion, qualifying for the Championship Shoot-out.
- The Championship Shoot-out will be scotch (alternate shot) format eliminating teams on every hole until there is one team left that will be declared the 2010 Member-Member Champions.

In the interest of journalistic integrity, the editor admits to using some artistic license with Dr. Maddux's (assuming he is a real doctor that is) quote. To be honest, the editor can't be quite sure what Dr. Maddux was rambling about other than his statement that no team presented any challenge to him retaining the Member-Member title. He went further to imply that he could win the title single-handedly and that Dr. Follette was riding his coat-tails.
